THE MAGIC OF MICELLAR WATER!
Early this year, while I was scanning skincare products at Watsons, I came across this 'fancy water'. I couldn't find an oil-based makeup remover that I like and that is within my budget, so, I was really grateful when the saleslady recommended this Garnier Micellar Water. I have never heard of micellar water before that day (Haha!), so, I immediately Googled it when I got back to my dorm.
Apparently, this thing has micelles or tiny balls of cleansing molecules that are suspended on soft water. Micelles attract dirt and oil so they help to free your skin from impurities. Simple as that! It's pretty easy to use as well. Just use a cotton ball or cotton pad and wipe the makeup, dirt and oil off your face. Another thing that I like about it is that most micellar water (if not all) are rinse-free. If you're a lazy girl or in case you are way too exhausted to clear up your makeup before going to bed, this is the next best option to facial wash and water.
I don't normally wear heavy makeup - most of the time I just use moisturizer, sunscreen (If I don't forget it!), a sheer layer of BB Cream once in a while, lipstick, eye shadow (When I feel like it!) and light blush on. I admit, I used to be a fan of oil-based makeup remover (or cleansing oil). While it's good and somehow leaves a moisturizing effect, I just think my skin gets greasier than it already is. Micellar is not like that. It leaves my skin soft, supple and clean at the same time. It is also safe to use on your eyes and lips! However, it doesn't claim to remove heavy foundation and waterproof mascara.
I have noticed a huge difference in my skin after using this for several months. Maybe the weekly clay mask helps a lot too, but seriously, my skin is clearer than ever even if I have fewer trips to the derm clinic this year. It leaves almost zero makeup residue and that's exactly what you need before you hit the sack. Ever since I hit my 20's, I've basically been just aiming for that 'good canvas' kind of skin. No matter how tired or sleepy I am, I have to remind myself not to sleep with makeup on.
Actually, I still use this even if I am not wearing makeup at all. I use it the way I used Johnson & Johnson cleanser when I was a teen. It's just nice to know that you can somehow take the dirt and grime off your face which is the leading cause of clogged pores that eventually turn into breakouts.
Makeup is good, but skincare is better! Protect your skin and you won't need layers of makeup to hide your impurities.
Have you tried using micellar water before?
Ah, so this is what micellar water looks like. This would be really helpful especially for someone like me who's quite lazy to wash my face before dozing off, haha!
ReplyDeleteYup, I feel you! Haha! You should definitely try this one! It's available at Watsons and Mercury Drugstores too! :) I like the fact that this Micellar Water is safe to use around your eyes and lips too. Since I usually wear red lipstick at work, I find it hard to remove it before I go to bed. This product definitely helps! :) Thanks for checking out this post!
